The Hispano Chamber is preparing for the second cohort of this series of six (6) weekly classes that will unlock the mysteries and the opportunities of doing business with Federal, State, County, City and other Local Municipalities and Anchor Institutions of New Mexico!

Fourth Cohort Dates & Topics
Session 1: What is Procurement & is it feasible for my business? - October 4, 2022
This session will discuss the procurement feasibility, how your business qualifies to do business with the government, how to register your business in the government database, and a meet and greet with community resources that can further assist your company in government and commercial contracting.
Session 2: Government Contracting 101 - October 11, 2022
This session will discuss how to research strategies for accessing federal, state, & local government and commercial markets, how to market yourself to the government, how to register your business in the government database, and the different types of contracts.
Session 3: Building Your Procurement Team - October 18, 2022
Participants will learn the critical elements of building an excellent Procurement team. Should you look outside the firm or in-house for these vital experts? Key experts will discuss the importance of having a well-developed team in their back pocket to bid or complete a project successfully.
Session 4: Special Set-Asides & Teaming Opportunities - October 25, 2022
This session will discuss the advantages of teaming with other companies, obtaining federal Set-Aside certifications for which you qualify, and special SBA programs offered to small businesses.
Session 5: Accounting & Cybersecurity - November 1, 2022
A contractor must have a proper accounting system when doing business with the government. Therefore, Accounting and Cybersecurity will go together. This session will discuss accounting systems and invoicing practices, an overview of pricing your products and services, and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification to protect your accounting systems.
Session 6: Contract Ready vs Contract Management - November 8, 2022
This session will discuss the government regulations, the RFP Structure & Best Practices, how contractors can effectively prepare themselves for a proposal response, and contract management.
