The Youth Summit and Future’s Fair empowers young individuals to take charge of their financial future, make informed financial decisions, manage debt responsibly, and navigate their career paths effectively. By equipping them with practical knowledge and skills, we seek to positively impact their lives and contribute to their long-term success. We believe that your insights, experience, and vision would inspire and benefit the young minds attending this event. The event will focus on financial literacy, career planning, and college readiness for young high school students in New Mexico.

Join us for this educational event that will impact the students lives as they navigate their financial, educational, and career path for future success. High schools interested in attending may register below. Include your school information and the number of students attending.
- Parent w/Student Registration
For parents/guardians interested in attending the event with their student(s) will need to complete this registration form. This means you are a parent/guardian of the student(s) and attending the event solely on your own and not part of a high school group/field trip.
- Future's Fair Exhibitor Booth
For businesses interested in hosting an exhibitor booth to share information with the students about financial literacy, college and career readiness, interships, and scholarships; please submit an application form. There is a minimal cost to host a booth at the event.

EVENT INFORMATION:
Join us for the 2024 Youth Summit and Future's Fair located at the Pete V. Domenici Educational Building at the National Hispanic Cultural Center (1701 4th St SW, Albuquerque, NM 87102) on April 16, 2024, and presented by the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce. The 2024 Youth Summit and Futures Fair is a dynamic initiative designed to equip the next generation with essential skills and knowledge critical for their financial well-being and professional growth. Through a series of workshops, training sessions, and exhibitor booth displays this summit aims to empower New Mexico high school students (11th and 12th grade) and young adults (between the ages of 18 and 25 years old) by providing comprehensive education and training platforms centered around three core pillars: financial literacy, career exploration, and college readiness.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
- Financial Literacy: Our program delves into the fundamentals of money management, budgeting, savings, and investment strategies. We aim to cultivate a solid understanding of financial concepts among participants, enabling them to make informed financial decisions.
- Debt Awareness: Addressing the impact of debt on young lives is crucial. Our summit educates participants on the implications of debt accumulation, particularly high-interest debt like student loans and credit cards. We provide tools and guidance to manage and mitigate debt effectively.
- Career & Educational Development: Resource booths will assist youth in identifying career pathways, understanding educational opportunities, college readiness, and developing the essential skills necessary for success.
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
- Interactive Workshops: Engaging sessions led by financial experts, career advisors, and educators to facilitate learning and skill development.
- Futures Fair: Access to various colleges, trade schools, financial institutions, networks, opportunities for ongoing learning and support post-summit, and insights from industry professionals sharing their experiences and offering valuable advice to inspire and guide the youth.
- Networking Opportunities: A platforms for students and young adults to connect, exchange ideas, and build networks that foster collaboration and growth.

Financial Literacy Sessions:
- Budgeting Basics: Students can learn how to create and manage a budget to achieve financial success.
- Understanding Credit and Debt: Students will learn about credit scores, debt management, and responsible borrowing.
- Building Wealth Through Investment: Students will learn about real-life financial decisions and investing in their future to build wealth.
Career Exploration Session:
- Career Exploration & Job Readiness: An educational session to explore various career paths and industries while balancing a part-time job in school.
College Readiness Sessions:
- Navigating College Applications: Learn directly from college recruiters and experts as they guide students through the college application process, including essays and deadlines.
- Financial Aid and Scholarships: Learn about the different types of financial aid, scholarships, and grants available to students to help with tuition and expenses.
- Adapting to College Life: Learn how to transition from high school to college, including mental health awareness and campus resources.
- Understanding Student Loans: An informational session on the different types of student loans, repayment options, and loan forgiveness programs, including when and why a student should consider getting a student loan for educational expenses.
