Paul Chavez

Paul Chavez was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the second child, and only boy, of Sally and Mariano Chavez. He was only six when his father started Apache Construction/Valley Fence. If you ask him how long he has worked for Valley he is likely to say,  “All of my life.” Work started early, and he was sorting fitting by the time most kids are just learning to ride their bicycles.

Paul attended high school at Sandia View Academy. He believes attending the private Christian school changed the direction of his life. Many of his friends were lost to drugs and alcohol, a path he very well may have taken had his father not made the decision to send him there. After high school he enrolled in classes at the University of New Mexico but knew the family business was where he belonged and got to work. Paul, like his father, has been involved with the Hispano Chamber of Commerce for many years and is so proud to see Tyler now following in their footsteps.

Paul met his wife Angela in 1976 and knew she was the girl for him. They have been married for more than 41 years. They have two children of their own and two that were grafted into the family. Paul has completely enjoyed working in the Albuquerque South Valley community and serving much of New Mexico and is now is looking towards retirement! He is slowly allowing the boys to take over. He’s looking forward to traveling with his wife, enjoying the grandchildren and improving his golf game.
