Yesterday I had the opportunity to attend the The Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce Procurement Matchmaking Roundtable, and events like this are exactly why being part of the Chamber is so valuable. In just one event, I was able to sit down and have meaningful, one-on-one conversations with representatives from 12 different companies, agencies, municipalities, and organizations — including Bernalillo County, Rio Rancho Public Schools, PNM, the Navajo Nation, UNM and many more.

For a small business, getting in the door with large organizations and government agencies can be one of the hardest parts of the process. Opportunities like this put us directly across the table from the people we need to meet, giving us the chance to introduce our business, learn about upcoming procurement opportunities, and start building relationships that could ultimately become life-changing accounts.

I also loved seeing so many familiar faces and fellow local vendor partners in the room. There is something special about watching our New Mexico small-business community grow together.

A huge thank you to the Albuquerque Hispano Chamber of Commerce for continuing to create opportunities that give local businesses a seat at the table. This is just one of the many benefits of being a Chamber member, and I’m grateful to be part of it!
